Nancy Lammers shares with her friend and colleague Abigail Clauhs a deeply personal story that influenced her decision to pursue a career in nursing. She discovered a box of photographs and clippings about her sister, Gail, who died of leukemia at a young age. Hearing her mother's stories about the care Gail received from nurses motivated Nancy to enter the medical field. Despite the challenges within her family, Nancy chose nursing as her profession.
