Fleeing through France
- Featuring: Mireille Lister & Annette Weinberg
- Date Submitted: Sep 7, 2022
- Location: California
Mireille’s father had been a successful businessman in Brussels until 1940, when the Nazis invaded Belgium and took over his factory. After a worker alerted her father that the Nazis were going to arrest him and his family, they escaped to Paris. Making their way, city by city, trying to get to free France, they were eventually captured. Once free they made their way to the United States where they settled in Queens, N.Y.
